  1. Have you read Chef AJ’s book, Unprocessed? It helped me clean up my already-decent veganish diet last year. The key for me (and I don’t need to lose weight, just maintain as I near 30) was cutting out oil. I lost 5lbs over the Christmas holidays without doing anything but giving up sauteeing in oil. I drank a lot, ate some of my mom’s cookies, exercised little.. and came back from vacation slimmer.

    Quit oil and sugar, and if you still need to lose a little, cut back on nuts and avocado.

    And God bless your workouts! I hate working out and if I didn’t live in NYC I’d weigh a thousand pounds.

    1. Thank you! I am newly inspired! I can’t get enough of books on nutrition. I am going on Amazon right now to check it out.
      I do use a lot of oil and I have noticed lately since I’ve been logging my meals that even one tablespoon of heart healthy extra virgin olive oil adds a bunch of calories each day. I, too, sautee in oil. I have been giving up sugar and have already noticed a difference in my abdomen being slimmer. Thanks for the tip. I am going to try it. Wish me luck!

        Try sauteeing in water or broth. I haven’t figured out roasting without oil yet, but someday I will…
